Wake up time!
7:30 AM
Room ready to vacate --out by 8! Do not leave the room until one of the chaperones has inspected it. Remember, students are responsible for any damage done to their room. In the past, Coginchaug has received bills that were passed on to the occupants of the damaged room. Leave luggage in your room until after breakfast.
7:30 - 8:15 AM
Breakfast buffet on the Mezzanine. No one will be admitted after 8:00!
8:30 AM
Load luggage on bus, board buses, and DEPART PROMPTLY AT 8:45!
8:45 AM
Depart for the National Zoo (3001 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008)
9:15 AM
Arrive at National Zoo. The National Zoological Park is a part of the Smithsonian Institution. The National Zoo is a 163-acre zoological park set amid Rock Creek Park in the heart of Washington, D.C. Open to the public 364 days a year, we are home to 2,000 individual animals of nearly 400 different species. Our best known residents are our giant pandas, Tian Tian, Mei Xiang, and Bao Bao.
11:30 AM
Board buses for trip home to Connecticut.
3:45 PM
We will stop for 30 minutes at The Delaware House on I-95 for lunch: You are responsible for paying for your own for lunch.
4:15 PM
Return to buses for final drive home to Coginchaug. We stop as the bus drivers require; students will be told to phone home when we are a half-hour away to make arrangements to be picked up.
HERE ENDS THE TRIP. WE HOPE EVERYONE HAD A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE VISITING OUR NATION’S CAPITAL!
